Woolston High Street

Woolston High Street is situated on Victoria Road and provides a number of shops including Superdrug, and Woolston Post Office. In addition, there are a variety of cafes and other services on offer including Boots Pharmacy, Piggy’s Café, Greggs and Hairdressers. There is also a Lidl nearby.

Woolston Community Centre

Located opposite St Mark’s Church at the junction of Weston Grove Road and Church Road, the community centre offers a range of activities including weekly fitness classes, mother and toddler groups and wellbeing classes. Spares are available for community events and private parties. 

Itchen Spitfires Running Club

The Itchen Spitfires Running Club meet on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and can be found at the Millennium Garden at the junction of Portsmouth Road and Victoria Road. The club is assessable via a yearly membership which also includes social runs and racing events, with currently 200 members.

Woolston Library

Situated within Centenary Quay on Victoria Road, Woolston Library hosts community events and courses throughout the week. These include Toddler Time, Knitting Group and Digital Champions. The library also offers a dementia friendly coffee and craft group.

School Travel

YMCA Woolston Nursery

YMCA Woolston Nursery is located a short walk away on Victoria Road. It can be accessed by walking along Victoria Road where there are dropped kerbs and tactile paving provided throughout the route.

Woolston Infant School

Woolston Infant School is located on Florence Road and can be accessed via foot or cycle. It can be accessed via Victoria Road, Obelisk Road and West Road. There are three zebra crossings provided on Obelisk Road, with one directly adjacent to West Road, providing safe access to the school for pedestrians.

Ludlow Infant School and Junior School

Ludlow Infant and Junior School are situated on the same site on Ludlow Road, to the northeast. Both schools can be accessed via foot or cycle along Victoria Road, a pedestrian signalised crossing is provided at the Portsmouth Road Bridge Road junction. From there, a footpath is located opposite Manor Road South which continues in a north east direction ending on the corner of Poole Road and Ludlow Road.

Oasis Academy Sholing

Oasis Academy is situated in Sholing and is the nearest secondary school from Centenary Quay. The school can be accessed via cycle or foot along Victoria Road, Radstock Road, Bishops Road and then, Sholing Road. There are footways along the whole route.
